Blogging in Haiku

WordPress, Wix, and SquareSpace,

A platform for my writing,

Just pick one and start.

In morning darkness,

Coffee, laptop, and my mind,

Time to heat things up.

An empty text file,

A flurry of bold keystrokes,

A new blog entry.

O headline, headline,

Lead me to the promised land,

Otherwise it sucks.

My words flow strangely,

Fifty kinds of vanilla,

I will not be plain.

Everything I write

Isn't worth you all reading...

So I edit it.

Too many writers...

Does my opinion matter?

The best will be read.

Email, SEO,

Social media and ads...

I must promote it.

Wonder if guest blogs

Can get me some more traffic,

It's at most a chance.

Is this guy nuts?

Yes. Yes, he is. . Is he serious? Yes.

I bet the haiku got your attention. I bet you spent a minute seeing if it meant anything. Did you see the pattern? Not just the haiku 5/7/5 syllables, but the message top to bottom? Go on, I'll wait.

Rules? Forget them. Be a renegade.

It'll make your content better. When you go to Baskin-Robbins, you probably don't look through 31 flavors so you can choose vanilla. You know who Picasso is for his style, right? You know he could paint regular style first. But you know him for the risks he took.

Blogging in haiku is now taken.

So what are you gonna do?
