Are Blogs Written?
Yes, blogs are written.
They're usually informal in style and focused on a particular topic - or niche in blogging parlance. Each individual article is called a blog post and is typically between 500 and 1500 words in length - although they can be much less or much more depending on the blogger.
Blog posts are published on average once per week. However, some bloggers publish every day while others only once a month.
There is a lot of room for personal expression. In fact, authenticity is a trait most successful blogs share. Readers like to follow blogs that are honest, reflect who the blogger really is, and provide helpful information.
They're looking for ways to fix a problem they have or to learn how to get better at a particular skill. Blogs that meet these needs tend to do very well. This doesn't mean that you have to blog this way.
There are some very accomplished bloggers who write solely about their daily lives and adventures.
Although blogs are, by definition, written, many bloggers also have their own YouTube channel. This is called video blogging or vlogging. Podcasting is also popular among bloggers because it allows them to offer their followers multiple ways to connect with and enjoy their content.
Blogging itself is a great entry into these activities and is also an excellent way to start a business online. I started a blog for fun eleven years ago called Smart Classroom Management. I thought I could help teachers like me manage behavior more effectively.
After a couple years I started offering books and guides for sale and now the blog has turned into a full-time income. So I encourage you, if you're interested in learning more about blogging, please have a look around Renegade Blogger.
It may just be the best decision you've ever made.
